Need To Apply For SSDI?

You’ve Applied & Are Waiting

Applied for SSDI and Are WaitingWaiting for a decision on your SSDI application can be unpredictable and stressful. The length of time between filing and a decision is often dependent upon factors beyond your control, such as the number of cases at the time or the length of time it takes to document your medical condition. The process can last from less than a month to several months, despite any timeframe you may get from your Social Security office.

Experienced SSDI Attorney, John Snyder Can Help

The Law Office of John Snyder has experienced SSDI attorneys available to help ensure your filing is not delayed. While there is no way of knowing exactly how long any case may take, we can help you during the waiting period by preparing for next steps should your case be denied.

After You Are Approved for SSDI

If you are approved to receive Social Security Disability benefits, remember that you will not actual receive benefits until your condition has lasted five months or more. If you have received immediate approval; for example, due to a recent surgery, you will still have to wait five months before receiving a payment. You are able to receive benefits as long as your disability continues to prevent you from working. The Social Security Administration will perform a review, called a CDR or Continuing Disability Review, on your file every one to three years to help determine whether or not your medical condition has improved over time.
