Roads in Counties Surrounding Atlanta Can Be Deadly

Another driver has died as the result of an auto accident in Coweta County, marking the second death in an auto accident for that county this year. The head-on collision happened on U.S. 27 near Moreland.

The name of the fatality victim, a 72-year-old man who died en route to the hospital, has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Also injured in the accident were a mother and daughter, both of whom had to be airlifted to separate hospitals in Atlanta.

Preliminary reports have the man swerving to avoid a car that was exiting a residential driveway. As he swerved, he crossed over the centerline and ran into the auto driven by the mother. Her car was then propelled into a ditch. Emergency personnel had to extricate the woman and her daughter from the car. They also had to extricate the man from his car that had remained on the highway. The highway was closed for just over three hours while police investigated the accident and then cleared the road.

This tragedy once again illustrates how dangerous the roads around the Atlanta area can be. As of yet, there is no news as to whether the driver who was exiting the driveway simply did not see the oncoming car or if the driver was impaired in some way. However, when someone is injured in an auto accident that was another’s fault, an auto accident lawyer should be contacted as soon as possible.

If you have been injured in an auto accident, Atlanta lawyer John A. Snyder can review your case to determine if you have a personal injury claim and to ensure that those responsible for your injury are held accountable.
